Hey all, I'm looking for some input on a project I've been working on for quite some time now. It will be a fully digital portable herbal vaporizer.

Key ideas:
  • OLED B/W display screen, letting you know the working and set temperatures, along with battery level.
  • Customizable welcome screen with usage statistics.

So after hour and hours of searching(several weeks lol) i have become so overwhelmed with the abundance of information and also the lack there of. SO basically ill start with what i want. A super simple small portable vapor pen that i can pull of my jar of bho take a dab or so put it somewhere relativly easily smoke it and be on my way. I've been vaping for quite some time and I have noticed that the hot vapor is pretty harsh on the throat and sometimes the lungs so I have been looking for ways to cool the vapor, as well as dissolve some of the ammonia that has been detected in noticeable concentration in most vaporizers (basic solutions are harsh on the lungs) . I currently own a da vinci ascent, and operate it around 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

I've been considering, taking a elb from the cloud and maybe a thick walled male gong wand from say a SSV to maybe use as a vape for the on the go type of deal.

My idea is to fill an elb appropriately and cap it, then have the elb laying on a safe flat service. Then moderately and evenly heating up the male gong joint w/ a torch(it would take some practice getting it righ and having a heat gun would be ideal) , when ready bringing the wand down onto the elb inserting it in the gong and...

Or at least point me in the right direction.

Right now, i have a wax pen consisting of a Gentleman's Brand atomizer and a standard 510 ego battery.

I'm looking to maybe buying a mod battery and atomizer.
- Now, what type of battery would y'all suggest?
What batteries out there have a button on the side rather than the bottom, and which ones have an LCD screen for battery life?

I suffer from some aggressive rheumatological disease which causes joint pain and inflammation. I've been managing my pain with cannabis for the last year. I play bass and vaporize with an mflb. I play for long periods of time with bands and when I practice, and find it inconvenient to have to stop playing to vape every 10 minutes (I keep a very light buzz to keep my head as clear as possible when playing)

A friend brought me a crippled vape, and I wasn't able to figure out what failed with a multimeter. The fuse and the ceramic heating element were still good, and the problem seemed to be somewhere in the super chippy logic side of the board.

I was wondering what any engineers might have to say about this. Can a heating coil be embedded in glass and battery powered for a portable, all glass, no-lighter-required vaporizer? Or am I like 10 years too late and this design already exists everywhere?

I bought a vaponic because I wanted small size, cheap and all glass. But the lighter pisses me off.
