Hey all.

So I wanted to get a Vaporizer, but I've always been a person with interest in making stuff.

And since I don't have a budget of $150+ for a vaporizer I started looking into my own.

I am just going to use it for Smoking weed. maybe CBD Oil would be nice too.

So looking into ideas and others projects, I've been thinking a bit:

1) Making a vaporizer with bluetooth temp controlling through App on smartphone.
Problem is I can't make an App, but I can do some Arduino...

The original ambient light vaporizer - Solar Puffing and the Sun

If an admin wants to strike this down on principle I wouldn't be offended...

But I've been solar-puffing (as my circle has coined it) for a long time. A pair of sunglasses, a decent magnifying glass and a pipe with a visible bowl (the only type I consider buying really at this point) are all you need to get incredibly tasty hits from plant material or extracts. By varying how tightly you focus the beam of light, you can actually get a decent vaporization going with some practice. By messing...

VapCap 510 Heater Build (Based on "The Project")

Hey guys. First off, huge thanks to @natural farmer who made me aware of the need for this type of device.
It seemed to be a natural offspring for the methodology used in the Project Vape device, and proves to indeed be a shoe in, as takes basically the same base hardware configured a bit differently.
Natural Farmer will be getting involved in this endeavour and be making this or a similar...

I'm thinking of a design to improve the electronics in a device like the Milaana, with a contained LiPo pack instead of 18650s, and a regulator for the coil. But I'm not sure where to start. Does anyone sell a heating element that could be used for a ground-up design?

I feel like just buying an older/broken vaporizer (like a Milaana, or one of the older Firewoods) and using it for the housing and heater would be an easier route. Would appreciate any suggestions!

How would you go about making a diy all glass butane vape that works like the sticky bricks?

The overall design doesn't seem too complex. There's a herb chamber. There's a mouthpiece. There's a butane intake. I want to buy something that works like this. I don't want to pay for exotic wood. I don't want to pay for fancy workmanship.

Does anyone have any ideas of what one could use to make a small 14mm glass bowl/slide that has a tall glass intake for the butane torch?

DIY Mod Box Logos

I'm always been a zero in non-applied phisics, and in the last days I felt persecuted by watts, ohms, amps and volts... So in my wait for Project parts (when I will finally understand those laws applying them on myself...:science:) I dedicated my spare time on customizing the Mod Box.
I've been a graphic designer some ages ago, so I'm somewhat nostalgic about old graphics and I've found the creation of logos a funny pastime. It is like working with a black & white...

I thought i would start this thread to show you how i go about fixing broken Cloud bamboos!
I did not take too many photo's for this one because i was not sure if it would work!
I think i will be fixing a few more units for members along the way!

The first one i fixed for @olivianewtonjohn
It arrived with the top portion of the bamboo cleanly broken off at the level of the heater.
Luckily the heater still worked!

Here i have removed the heater from the broken bamboo and...

Hey Guys/Gals.
Opening this thread to have a spot to discuss and pool our knowledge regarding best firmware options to alter existing box mods to better suit our vaping needs. There seems to be more and more 510 based vaporizers coming to market in our world here. The TC technology is still new for our application but has being close to perfected for the needs of ECig users.

So far, the "myevic" open source firmware seems to be a big topic as has very complicated and powerful upgrades for...

Induction heated e-nail with arduino closed loop temp control

I was intrigued by the banger style nails in particular the Liger but that one isn't in my budget currently so I got this nail from http://www.dhgate.com/product/smoking-dogo-2015-may-new-arrival-universal/238802269.html for $12.85. It fits nicely on my small Silika bubbler with a 14mm to 10mm dropdown. At first I was doing low temp dabs by just using my induction heater modules to heat the nail to a barely visible red and timing the cool down which was a bit tedious and...

Power Supply for DIY Plug-in

Hi everyone long time lurker here.
I am looking to build a DIY plug in vape and was hoping I could get some ideas for a power supply. Also, I have noticed most vapes use low voltage and high amperage to achieve the desired watts. Is it possible (or safe) to use something such as a 23V 2A power supply?

Davinci Ascent Repair

For anyone out there who has a Davinci Ascent let me both congratulate you and give you my condolences. It's a fantastic device... as long as it holds up. For the past 4 months my unit has basically not worked when unplugged. It can operate for about 90 seconds (get up to full temperature, maintain for a few, then begins powering down). I've sent the unit back for repair a few times and finally got tired of paying for shipping back to them for what seemed to be (in my opinion) a...

Small ducted fan for portable bag-filling?

I know I can't be the first person that thought of this (maybe someone has already pulled this off successfully?)

I want a small, in-line electric ducted fan (EDF) that can turn many of my generic portable vapes into a portable volcano

Here's how: first, I need to source a ducted fan small yet powerful enough. with the fan being "ducted" in a small, self-contained, tubular enclosure, simply attach silicon tubes /...

Hey guys ! I want to share a DIY vaporizer design that i've been using on various occasions ,i've broken more than a few test tubes till i figure ,what is the safest way to operate and produce it.So for my current build i use two test tubes and a silicon ring.
Test tube for the bowl is 12mm/100mm 0.8mm thick and 16mm/100mm 1mm thick (I have few 16m/100mm that work too,but its 0.8mm thick )
